Happy Birthday A!

I love my job!  Making memories for families makes me smile. :-)   I began photographing the C sisters when Miss A was born.  Now Miss A is ONE!  This morning we had a fabulous session out in Lincolnton at the C family home.  They live right next to a small field which was perfect for the pictures.  I have to tell you it was awesome to have such great assistants this morning.  Big sisters, A and A, (yep, they all have A names) helped me out so much by running to get things and taking props back to the car…oh, and by making the birthday girl smile and laugh!  Let me just tell you that hearing them all (including mommy) sing and dance the chicken dance was priceless!  The things we do for pictures…lol. :-)   I had a great time this morning!  Here’s your sneak peek.  Enjoy.

I wanted to show two different edits on the same picture.  It is amazing what an edit can do to change the look.

The above picture is the next step to one we did when Miss A was a newborn.  My how they grow fast.  Here is the picture that is beautifully framed in the C household right now.

A nursery fit for a princess – Augusta, GA newborn photographer

A princess named Sophie.  I know I don’t normally use names but one of the pictures will show it anyways.  :-)   Twenty-four hours ago I entered a beautifully decorated home and began one of my best newborn sessions ever.  9 day old Sophie was working on going to sleep in her bed, she was lightly wrapped in a blanket, and had on a loose diaper.  Mommy followed my newborn session tips wonderfully!  I was warned that Sophie wasn’t the best sleeper and that she only took short naps here and there.  “PERFECT”, I told Mommy.  The mommies that say their baby sleeps wonderfully are typically awake during their session and are harder to get to sleep.  The mommies that say their baby doesn’t sleep great will sleep through the whole session.

I was right!  Sophie slept the entire 3 hours.  She let me move her and pose her numerous times.  Mommy and Daddy were both calm and laid back…and Mossy (not sure if that is how you spell it), Sophie’s grandmother, was too when she came to watch the end of the session.  It was wonderful meeting all of you.  You have such a beautiful and special gift from God right there in your home.  Thank you for letting me photograph her.  Here is your sneak peek.  Enjoy!

{beach} sneak peek – Augusta, GA baby, child and family photographer

As you all know I was on vacation at the beach last week.  It flew by way too fast but we all had a wonderful time playing in the sand, riding the Sea Doo, looking for shells and jumping the waves.  I learned that my son truly is a beach baby…he gets it from me, his Mamaw and most of all his Gaga…she could play and have sand on her all day just like he did!

While I was down in Mexico Beach, Florida, I took some family pictures on the beach.  This session was completed in the shortest amount of time ever for me…it was at the max 30 minutes!  Here is your sneak peek.  Enjoy!

Happy Daddy’s Day!

To all the wonderful fathers out there…Happy Father’s Day!  The daddy to my precious son recieved a custom painted golf towel and a coffee mug with a picture of his boys right on the front.  He loved them!  Here’s the picture we used for the mug…the one and only shot from the mini session where they were both looking at me and not making silly faces. :-)

13 days young – Augusta, GA newborn photographer

G was sleeping when I arrived but during set up and chit-chat he decided to join in.  He was wide eyed but very content…such a happy baby!  Big sister was a great little assistant to me.  She helped me carry props and blankets inside and hung out while baby G was eating.  Mommy worked hard and got G to sleep after a while.  G being almost two weeks old made a big difference.  Newborns in the first week of life are in a foggy sleep state which allows for easier movement and changing his/her position.  G did finally get into a deeper sleep but not enough to attempt more cuddled poses.  I really enjoyed getting to meet all three of you!  I’m glad so far we have kept the secret…this session is a suprise for Daddy’s birthday so if you know him…shhhhh! :-)
